[00:03:25] * Colourless doesn't like getting up and the temperature on the therometer being less than zero and the ground is covered with ice
[00:40:56] <Elizabeth> haha

[00:41:09] <Elizabeth> so nice
[03:07:56] <servus> Puppy breath smells like the air from bike tires.
[06:52:35] <servus> http://www.ttlg.com/articles/wsint2.asp They're really pounding on Warren Spector about the constant hard drive access during U7, but... well... Haven't these people heard of smartdrv?
[06:55:22] <servus> They were thinking of an SI expansion... on Earth! : o
[10:56:51] <Colourless> only so much you can do with a limit of 2mb of memory, which was lots for the time the game came out... so as developer you need to implement a very inteligent caching system, which is what they did...
[16:37:11] <Zerothis> is it possible to have multiple data files for the purpose of say, having a map of a city in a separate data file and a map of that same city after a battle in a third file?
[20:16:55] <wjp> Zerothis: you mean replacing a part of the world entirely?
[22:35:55] <Zerothis> wjp: Yes. For instance I want to have a city turned to ruins, thus replace a section of the world. There are some sloppy ways of doing this. I was wondering if it would be less sloppy if each version the city was in an external data file.
[22:37:25] <Zerothis> teleporting to a different version of the city on the same map seems easier, but leads to funky sextant readings
