[11:32:55] * Darke bows in greetings. Hi!
[11:33:16] * Darke saboutages exultbot to only log in iambic pentameter.
[11:36:14] <wjp> lol
[11:54:43] <Fingolfin> yo
[12:02:10] <Darke> Hi.
[12:17:02] <wjp> hi
[13:18:07] * Darke yawns and hops onto the express train to dreamland. Night all!
[13:18:25] --- Darke is now known as Darke|afk
[15:24:32] <Colourless> hi
[16:32:04] --- Cryptstoned is now known as Cryptster
[16:32:33] <Cryptster> hello
[16:32:39] <Cryptster> hello bot
[16:32:48] * Cryptster slaps the exultbot
[16:32:57] <Colourless> don't do that
[16:33:17] <Colourless> it doesn't deserve such abuse... right now :-)
[16:33:22] <Cryptster> k
[16:33:28] <Cryptster> heh
[17:19:09] <Dominus> yo
[17:19:11] <Dominus> wb wjp
[17:19:17] <Colourless> hi
[17:21:09] <Dominus> Colourless: if you want to know, my problems with my scanner that I complained about seem to be some incompatibility between epsons twain driver and XP's "Image-obtainer (WIA)" service (don't know the English name)
[17:21:44] <Dominus> not allowing this service to run at all allows me to scan more than 10 images in a row
[17:22:31] <Dominus> Colourless: and how is the Studio/W2k debugging coming along?
[17:27:47] <Colourless> Windows Image Acquisition
[17:28:00] <Colourless> can't you just disable the service?
[17:28:01] <Dominus> ah, thanks
[17:28:19] <Colourless> haven't looked at studio debugging yet
[17:29:08] <Dominus> setting the service to run just manually still starts it on its own, disabling it alltogether was the only way to not have it run
[17:29:32] <Dominus> of course now I get a lot of DCOM errors in the event log but I just don't care anymotre
[17:29:39] <Colourless> note that i said: disable the service :-)
[17:30:55] <Colourless> manual doesn't really mean 'manual' in WinXP quite like it meant in Win2K. In XP it means run when required, while in 2K it really means manual, and you have to manually start the service yourself
[17:31:20] <Dominus> yeah, I found that out already....
[17:32:56] <Dominus> the only other thing someone mentioned was replacing the intel usb driver stuff with the generic ms ones
[17:44:43] <Dominus> Colourless: don't know if you know that page, but nice for getting to know the problem behind an event-id: http://www.eventid.net/search.asp
[18:51:37] <wjp> ?url
[18:51:37] <exultbot> The official Exult homepage is at: http://exult.sourceforge.net/
[18:52:39] <Colourless> there is a problem with exultbot?
[18:54:11] <Dominus> exultbot is not working properly in that other project'S channel (#uwadv)
[18:54:57] <wjp> well, it only had one set of 'answers'
[18:55:14] <wjp> so it was pointing everyone at the exult homepage :-)
[18:55:34] <Colourless> and that is a problem?
[18:56:06] <wjp> no, not really :-)
[19:12:27] <wjp> oh wow, someone sent me an email with virus removal tools. How considerate of them ;-)
[19:12:45] <Colourless> :-)
[19:13:03] <Colourless> oddly enough, the last time one one sent me one of those, it had a virus :-)
[19:13:40] <wjp> really? ah well, I'm sure the chances of that happening more than once are negligible
[19:14:00] <wjp> maybe I should reboot into windows to run them; who knows, maybe my windows installation caught a virus while I was using linux
[19:14:20] <wjp> lack of attention might have lowered its resistance to viruses, after all
[19:14:32] <Colourless> well, considering the amount of times i've had people send 'virus removal' tools, i wouldn't be so sure
[20:07:10] <Colourless> i should be going
[21:53:31] <Dominus> hi again
[21:53:33] <Dominus> so who is Mr.Mike
[21:53:35] <Dominus> ?
[21:53:46] <wjp> I was just asking myself the very same question :-)
[21:54:38] <Darke|afk> Me three. *grin* But I'm off to work now.
[21:55:01] <Dominus> bye bye
[21:55:09] <wjp> bye Darke
[21:55:17] <Darke|afk> Bye!
