[12:19:32] <SugarCube> wjp: I'm in Amsterdam. Where do I eat?!
[13:06:08] <sh4rm4> in a coffee shop
[13:13:57] <RadoS> McD
[17:00:52] <SugarCube> ... preferably something not horrible. I want traditional Dutch cuisine, whatever that is. Everything here is Argentinian or something.
[17:11:32] <SugarCube> Moeders it is... Jerks! :)
[19:09:50] <SugarCube> ... it was pretty good.
[20:29:35] <sh4rm4> dutch cuisine is potato chips with mayonnaise
[20:36:59] <wjp> that would be more Belgian
[20:37:17] <wjp> I wasn't aware we had typical cuisine
[20:37:38] <wjp> unless you count a dish of meat, potatoes and vegetables :-)
[20:38:40] <wjp> (I'm not really here this week and the next, by the way)
[20:41:41] <sh4rm4> don't you have those 1L tetrapaks full of flan pudding ? i liked that most
[20:42:28] <wjp> mmm, vla
[20:42:39] <wjp> I miss that in Belgium
[21:30:45] <SugarCube> That's what we had! http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/moeders-amsterdam?select=tGtXcMuC1_bhWqFj51QcQw#tGtXcMuC1_bhWqFj51QcQw and something else. Pretty good.
[21:32:36] <sh4rm4> the sausage dish doesn't look very inviting
[21:33:48] <SugarCube> It was all pretty good. Pretty similar to your basic Germanic/Bavarian I guess.
[21:34:06] <wjp> yum, zuurkool met rookworst?
[21:34:58] <sh4rm4> about as exciting as sauerkraut
[21:35:12] <wjp> identical :-)
[21:35:26] <sh4rm4> :P
[21:39:18] <SugarCube> Well, barely pickled. Sauerkraut mixed in with the taters. Something like pesto hummus for the bread. Anyway, recommended and well off the tourist path
[21:39:34] <sh4rm4> there, are austian cuisine http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/figlm%C3%BCller-wien-3?select=1qHKoyTeAHps98S-xxTN8w#1qHKoyTeAHps98S-xxTN8w
[21:39:48] <SugarCube> I like how the Dutch speak English to each other more readily than their ntional language.
[21:40:33] <SugarCube> Ugh. Too much meat.
[21:40:52] <wjp> to eachother?
[21:42:16] <SugarCube> Yes, not always of course but I'm a snooper. I snoop on the conversations of others. Two obvious natives may speak either language when discussing something. Not so much in Germany or France.
[21:42:33] <wjp> very unlikely though
[21:44:52] <SugarCube> Mm, maybe it was just the areas in outer Amsterdam that I was traversing. I like it when they don't speak English at all and there's a bit of a struggle. Meals taste better when you struggle for them.
[21:44:58] --- Sevalecan is now known as Maximus
[21:45:06] <wjp> :-)
