Thanks VisElEchNon! It really helped with your more detailed instructions.

So far, the results haven't been as dramatic as I had hoped. And some dark gray colors got rendered black, which becomes transparent in Ultima 6 Online... I'll still have to do a lot more tinkering.

I'm actually trying to work on the graphics for Ultima 6 Online. I'm wondering if I can use the HQ4x scaler on the graphics in .bmp files. Unfortunately, you'll need to do a bit of micromanaging during combat by pausing and manually commanding your companions by right-clicking to go where you want them to.

There are gameplay improvements (hotkeys, ease-of-use setting, combat features, etc) on Exult that you won't get from the original. Makes for a much better U7 experience IMO.

for the last part of Silver Seed, offer a better in-game clue to how to reach that sadistically tough-to-find basement. Perhaps a clue from Elyssia or a book in the library.

Also, a mention by the companions to keep the blackrock serpents and Orphidian sword with you for the last part of the game.

hmm I'm not having problems with staying logged, as you can see from this post.

Using the Keyring mod or SI fixes with the Hq3x scaler is cause enough to replay the U7 games, even without 3D. When smooth scrolling is finished, that'll be icing on the cake.

However, when it comes to daggers, throwing axes, and spears, the monsters are only carrying one of these even when it's specified in ES to have more than a count of one. The pirate is a prime example. As of now, they carry only one dagger when they are supposed to have ten.

oh yes here's another one

There's a problem with Paralyze.
A monster or a party member continues to fight even when paralyzed. They'll still have the purple outline, but it doesn't seem to effect them at all. If it's the avatar, the paralysis effects him only when he's out of combat mode.

I haven't encountered any crashes yet but, using midi, I have had some extreme slow-downs, especially in Britain. I'm going to check if I'd fare better shutting midi off.

Yay I can name my Avatar now!

I'd love to have the keypad, just 1-9 as 0, enter, +and the rest are not needed. I can use that to move my avatar around. As of right now I can only move in four directions...

They also made an enhanced graphics mod for U5 Lazarus.

It'd be nice if they sent you some of their graphics enhancements and make them available as a patch.
