most of these find sites using search engines.

you might need to use the robots.txt file to keep the forum out of their search databases.

Re: What do I DL?

It be smarter to have a "Get Exult Now" hyperlink that links to a page with the exult binaries and the SFX packs, and a have the SFX packs use an installer, or a good blurb about how to install them.

everything else gets sent to a better organized "Extras" page.

with the linux standards base, thats pretty much a given for any package system I use debian. the main problem with gentoo is that for most people, there isn't a tacit advantage to compiling the entire system... most people on x86/PPC platforms have similar enough CPUs, my Barton chip is the same as...

Re: Have you think in a console version ?

You need to get approval in order to sell games on consoles; you'd also need a dev kit, for most thats pretty much a given.

Cept the PS2. you gots linux with that.

Re: why Ultima X w/o Lord British might not be a bad thing

Ulitma X sounds like an expansion to UO, rather than an anything else.

EA is unlikely to go for another origin project that takes longer than 2 years to finish

1. FreeCraft, and since it plays war2, Has the possibility to dilute Blizzard's WarCraft trademark. Trademarks are valid as long as one defends them. So you can think that if Blizzard didn't C&D them, you'd get no World of Warcraft, simply because of the loss of the WarCraft trademark. People sh...

Re: [Mostly OT] EA vs. Vivendi.

Three Things. You can't confuse Ultima BG and SI with Exult. Its Obvious that you'd know that Exult has nothing to do with Origin/EA. FreeCraft is obviosly infringing on the WarCraft trademark. Blizzard sells something using the WarCraft trademark. Namely Warcraft 3, and you probably still pickup th...

Re: Ultima 8 in ME

Screw VDMS.

If you have a computer that lacks ISA slots, don't try running BG, SI, or U8.

You need DOS.

You need an ISA sound card.

if you lack either you are going to get a headache to get it to work, and sub-standard sound quailty when it does work.

Anything faster than a p133 is also out.

I'd check to see if your card is overheating.... try under clocking it and see what happens.

Motherboard design puts the two hottest computer components right next to each other.

Re: exult and sound

SDLSound depends on external libraries anyways(No libvorbis, no ogg playing).

Tho, I'd probably use the integer decoder on the zaurus, rather than the FP decoder(Which I assume would be the one that libvorbis uses by default)
