Re: Idea for future...spoken dialog?
Well, remember, if it follows a 'If the .ogg for the conversation is there play it, if not skip it' format, then not ALL the conversations would need to be in place at first. The initial patches could just include key characters/conversations. And remember, some conversations are recycled...the guar...

Re: Idea for future...spoken dialog?
lol...good point. Forgot, the Av doesn't get many spoken lines. ;) Okay...still, every other character could have a voice. Could be a fun diversion for a mod team. I'd love to give Blackthorne a shot, myself (he's in SI, right?)...after U5, I feel like I know him...shame he never had a chance at red...

Idea for future...spoken dialog?
Just a random thought...would it be possible, in future versions of Exult, to support fully spoken dialog in addition to typed? The Exult team would need to add support for .mp3 for this to keep the filesize of a 'dialog patch' feasable. The Exult team wouldn't even have to provide the voices...just...

Re: Voices are high-pitched in BG
Well, the reason I didn't report to the bug tracker was, when the original poster of this thread mentioned it...they were told there was another post on it already. I assumed that to mean you didn't want it on the tracker. As for Colourless Dragon...you're fired! (jk) :) I'm glad this was fixed...an...

Re: Voices are high-pitched in BG
It's not a showstopper, but we're not in the initial stages. If light shading for time of day transitions can be listed in the bug tracker...I think there would be room for this. We're at a 1.2 RC...1.2 is where the team wanted to stop, before adding enhancements. 1.2 is supposed to be the original ...

Re: Voices are high-pitched in BG
Another interesting note...despite the other post making this sound like a definitive Exult bug, it's not listed in the bug tracker. Should I enter it there. No real save game or anything to include, because it's not really save-game related. A shame, I was looking through finally playing through U7...

Re: Voices are high-pitched in BG
I've run into the same problem myself, now that I started playing Exult. Win XP, SB Live! Value card. As this detracts from the 'mood' of the game, I'm going to shelve Exult until a solution's found. A pity, you'd hope something this bad would be resolved by this point in a RC nonetheless. The Guard...

Re: Multiple Maps
Well, the idea behind 'Dark Britannia' as it were is that it would use a copy of the original BG map. Nothing new as far as dimension sizes and the like...it'd be a second copy of the main map. As a result, a LOT of the work could be done BEFORE Exult supports it. Basically, the mod team could have ...

Re: Multiple Maps
That's a good question. But let's not give too much away in this forum. Basically, once I've played through BG and SI, I'll feel comfortable being part of a MOD team. At that point, once we assemble a team, the team members can hammer out story and plot points in private. Have to have SOME surprises...

Re: Multiple Maps
Well, for the Dark Brittania theme, I was thinking of tying it into BG directly, if Exult adds multi-map support. Let the Avatar get into the altered world through the Dark Core...then, after a short while, the barriers break down and multiple gates between the two worlds appear. As for the Dark Ava...

Re: 1.1.9rc1?
This is a new version, even the frontpage doesn't mention it. My guess is, the team's busy uploading it. I'd try again tommorow.
This is good news...I'll likely start up BG fresh with this new RC...

Re: Exult Crash
Well, the install failure would cause the Exult dump. But we'd need to know exactly where the Exult installer crashes, and with what error message. Also, what OS are you running?

Re: Multiple Maps
I'd be interested, but it would have to be delayed a bit. See, I know Ultima history inside and out, but due to timing and sound issues, I have never played far into either U7. So, while I may have a dozen ideas in my head, and know what I would want to do in the AR, I'd like to have played through ...

Re: Multiple Maps
Lot that could be done...even going so far as to make an 'alternate britannia'...perhaps one that was already ravaged by the Guardian. With enough work, you could alter all the converstations and plots on this second map. Perhaps in this Britannia, the Guardian managed to corrupt the Avatar...and by...

Re: Exult 1.2?
Well, I've no problem waiting if it's less then a week. What the heck, I'll just wait for and play 1.2. :) And thanks for the replies. I figure now even the snapshot would be fine...but if 1.2's coming that quickly, why not just wait for it... "You have been a thorn in my side for FAR to long, ...

Re: Exult 1.2?
Namely, I'm afraid because I am new to this game. If a particular item is not where is should be, a conversation does not take place, a ship does not move, etc...I'll never know...go around in circles, and get frustrated. I've waited this long, but I am itching to play lately, I'll confess. If 1.2 i...

Exult 1.2?
Okay, first let me say I've been watching Exult since it was a shapes viewer. Also, let me say Ultima 7 was the first game I bought in my post-Commodore Amiga days. The problem was, the machine was Win '95. Now, I got U7 working, but could not reliably adjust the timing. As such, I only played the g...
