dreamcast

Post by suraimu »

I'm not sure if the DC has enough ram for U7, but if you guys want something different to play with when you get bored with the normal release, someone went and ported SDL to the dreamcast:

Dreamcasts are cheap. $50. And they run CD-R's without modification. :)

If you search our #exult log, you will find a lengthy, theoretical discussion what would need to be done to run Exult on the dreamcast. A ported sdl would shorten a lot and Exult running on Zaurus and WinCE (sometime in the future) would probably make it possible to run it on the dreamcast.
But always remember this comes from the guy who writes the most of the documentation but none of the code for Exult :-)

Technically, it already can run - just run it in linux for the dreamcast. But that requires using an NFS partition, which more or less means you're not running it on a dreamcast, you're running it on your dreamcast -and- a PC. :P
