here is just an open suggestion every one stop nit picking the game for every possible glitch. Do you not remeber ultima 7 pre exult, there were bugs and LOTS of them.
and by the way i know the fustration myself, my motto is if your not smart enough to run my program you don't deserve to run it just joking
Thanks for your replies to my message, Dr.Code, Colourless and Mr.Palenstijn. Thanks because it means that you´re still here working around, and every reply that I´ll receive will be welcome with hope. As MORG said Ultima7 had its complete set of bugs ( remember the corpses in Minoc, textures dissapearing, people like Alagner "dead but alive", random crashes, etc... ) so don´t be desperate about WJP; @!#$ happens!
EA acknowledges??!!! If this is what you want, venerable DrCode, we´re condemned: it sounds difficult, because if they give you a contract to sell your products, what reason could be exposed to stop all the other projects related to Ultima series ( and they´re legions ) to reclaim the same? Anyway don´t give up! One of them MUST BE the BEST and perhaps they will realize it someday; continue tormenting them until that day!
Work as well on Exult Studio; it could become a wonderful TOOL to make something NEW. Take your time...
That´s true WJP: I couldn´t say Exult´s completed or not... That´s great, isn´t it? And may God hears you and the features will be more than the bugs. I wonder how that sentence about stop working upsets you and that´s great too. Let´s go further then! You say this is a slowdown...and I do believe you. I´ll be right here, waiting for the next step. Thanks!!

> I suppose copying the original bugs could be interesting... if not useful...
We're not 'copying' them. They're just bugs in the original's data files, so they automatically show up in Exult if we interpret the data files correctly.
About EA, I'm sure they know about it but I'm also sure they just don't care. Oh, I'm certain they made sure no one makes any money off it and there are no obvious copyright violations...
Just try to go to origin.ea.com and find tech support for the origin games BESIDES Ultima Online. Near impossible unless you know the location of the ultima archive location (or what it was called).
For example I couldn't find an official page for Wing Commander patches (I found them elsewhere but not on Origin/EA pages...

Another thought: Use ES as a teaching tool. I'm going for an interview next week for teaching a 'multimedia CS' class at a nearby liberal arts college. Part of what they have in mind is the use of Director (for creating Flash pages). But I think writing usecode scripts might be a nice way to introduce programming to beginning students, since you get to see something fun happen on the screen. What d'you all think?
If I get this job, maybe I'll change my login to 'ProfCode':-)
Sounds like a cool idea. My only concern would be that Usecode isn't exactly a recognised language, and ucc isn't feature complete either. Also, it is most likely expected that you actually teach Director.
A nice name for the subject might be "Using scripting languages in Interactive Virtual World Simulations". Aka writing scripts for game engines.
About the original bugs: Are you thinking about fix them? Actually it´s not so important for me, I mean: You fix them - Ok, no bugs, all´s perfect... You don´t fix them - Ok, Exult is loyal to the spirit of the original U7, isn´t it wonderful? It´s just curiosity.
Oh! Perhaps you´ve answer the same question dozens of times... answer it once more please!
I looked through an online tutorial of Director. Wouldn't something like this be just the thing for setting up sequences like the Fawn or Moonshade trials?
