Game doesn't work

I downloaded and installed your product and when i clicked on it it said : could not find the data files for either the black gate or serpent isle please edit the configuration file and restart exault" now I have a version of the game from kazaa not store boughten is this the problem? and where can i buy the game if needed?

You can pick up a copy of the game on ebay... Try doing a search for "ultima vii complete", it came up with 3 copies of the complete Ultima VII CD-ROM when I did it just now (one of which was going for $1.99.) That CD has everything you need (both games, plus both add-ons.)

You could also try doing a search for "ultima collection" which will be more expensive, but has all of the Ultimas (except for Ultima IX) on one CD.

Once you get it, you need to install both games onto your hard drive (if I recall correctly, you can just copy the 'Ultima7' and 'Serpent' directories from the CD.) Then, when you run the exult installer and it asks where the games are installed, click 'browse' and navigate to wherever you installed each game.

I have run both 1.0 and 1.1 snapshots under WinXP and had no problems.

Well, I think I heard a rumor that exult doesn't work if you are using a pirated version of XP as Exult relies heavily on the MS activation scheme...

Ha. You cut out that first part, eh? I didn't say anything offensive! I just put random characters so I didn't swear. I just didn't want to really call him names. Argh, this reminds me of the software pirate in Ultima 7.

I checked ebay and their was one good version but it's gone now and all i can find is a version on disk does anyone know somewhere else i could buy the game?

ULTIMA may work fine, but your computer might have a few malicious things though...
