Regarding Exult and the Ultima Collection...

Post by Achilles »

I purchased the Ultima Collection series a year or two back but could barely get any of the games to function. Just yesterday I came upon Exult and decided to give Ultima 7 a run. It works fine, but I've encountered a bit of a set back. The mayor of trinsic is asking me to consult my cloth map for information on the geography of Brittania, but I can't remember if the Ultima Collection came with one or not, the only part of it I can even find is the CD. Is there a way around this or an online map I can consult?

1. the release of the ultima collection came with some paper manuals that had all the copyright answers of the games

2. releases that the ultima collection came bundled with don't have the paper manuals but have the map in digital form on the cd

3. be creative, do whatever everyone else does when she/he searches something nowadays

Also you can find a copy of the map on your UC CD

Erm, Dominus. Did you actually click that link? It's EA's site. They give away BG's copyright answers...

I've known that for ages. It still doesn't feel right to me to write that link down here.

We do not want the copyright answers posted here, even though EA lists them on their site. (Which is why I deleted that post)

What kind of crazy logic is that

Maybe they're afraid that EA will sue them for deep-linking.

we try to play it safe and with a couple of people asking for help with their pirated version of Ultima 7 (they even say they downloaded it somewhere) I think this is justified.

[edit by wjp - I think you meant a pirated U7, not a pirated Exult ;-) ]

Okay then. I won't really link to straight to it. You can find it (whatever that might be Ü) somewhere at http://www.uo.com/archive.

Lawyers? C'mon, there's such a thing as healthy paranoia, but that's absurd. These are the copy protection answers to an eleven year old game on the website of the company that published the game.

Not everyone who wants to play Exult will own the Ultima Collection, there's probably a lot of people who might dig out their old Ultima 7 disks but will have long since lost the cloth map. Personally my copy came from an old EA Compilation cd which had neither maps nor manuals, I was only able to play it because EA had recognised the problem and kindly provided the answers I needed on their website.

I'm all for not assisting piracy, but this seems a bit extreme.

Just because EA posted the answers on their site doesn't mean we can.

Besides, what's the point? They're already available. No need to duplicate them here.

I think I'll add this about the EA having the codes on their site. They don't have ALL the codes on their site, they only have the map coords for BG asked by Finnigan. They do not have Batlins answers, nor do they have the answers for SI.

The answers to Batlin's and the SI questions are of course in the games manuals on the UC cd, so this shouldn't be a problem for anyone with the CD without the UC manual.
