Exult broken in Serpent Isle

Hello,

I am running the Ultima Collection CD-ROM distribution of Ultima VII part 2 Serpent Isle. I have been play for a few hours and I am running into a very large problem.




I go through the Knight's Test quest, kill the wolf, and kill the cowardly knight Shmed. I grab the wolf's body, get my stuff, my companions and head back to monitor. Upon reaching the furriers, I click the dialogue option for "Slain wolf" and she asks for the body and then...

"We don't have the body with us.."

I check my inventory and there it is....WTF!?!?! Could someone please tell me what is going on here. Maybe I'm simply being stupid. I don't know. I put the corpse in my hand, backpack and even on the floor at her feet but the game seems to think I don't have it. I've even restored to before the knight's test, did it all over again to no avail.

The odd thig is that the girl from the Pub recognizes the body and takes the meat for stew...hmmm. Any ideas?

Duhhh. I guess it helps to search ALL DATES when I search the forum.

Anyway, it looks like your best bet is to try a recent 1.1 snapshot.

Got the same problem as well, the damn lady keeps saying i don't got the wolf ; tried everything to solve it but i just can't pass... what's the solution?

Oh, dunno... maybe you could follow the links I posted earlier... who knows, maybe I actually posted them because they pointed to useful information.
