other complete ultimas

like exult or even a fully rebuilt one?

I mean are there any complete ultima?

There's XU4 (an exult-like project for Ultima 4) and Nuvie (an exult-like project for Ultima 6.) Both of these projects still have a way to go before they are complete however (especially Nuvie.)

I believe Avatarship, a remake of U4 using NWN, is complete. Check out www.lyrac.net for it.

You can use dosbox to run any of the older ultimas, I am not sure how Ultima 6 works though

I've had no problems running Ultima VI in DosBox on a MacOSX machine. Also seems to run Ultima V fine.

There were problems with Ultima IV though.

The best way to run the ultimas is use VDMsound (they have also a beta release for win98 and I have managed to run u7 in it without problems)

You mean the best way if you are trying to run them under Windows
But U7 and U8 don't run well (U8 has problems with sfx and U7dpmi is just starting to be bearable with a P4 2,6 GHz) and along with the Underworlds need a patch to be "runable" at all.
Dosbox is the way to go in the future for all supported OS'. Ultima 1-6, Worlds of Ultima, Underworld 1+2 already run on it.
