You don't really need cheats, at least you didn't in the original. In SI, in particular, you could head just northeast of Monitor and wander back and forth, killing trolls. They usually carried some leather goods and/or gems for sale.

BG was a little more difficult, but the Britain-Yew road saw frequent attacks by headlesses, and they often carried gold nuggets.

You don't really need money if you want to cheat. If you want to buy an item, you can probably dupe it using Exult Studio. If you need a trainer, you can just edit your stats.

And plus, you can always dupe money using Exult Studio.

I don't think you can buy a keyring, you get it only in Silver Seed from that first guy in the caste (can't remember his name).

I think, but I'm not sure, that the guy who has the little supply shop in the northern end of town by the furriers and the blacksmith might sell lockpicks, but I can't remember his name, he's the guy who takes long walks in the forest.

Man I haven't played these games in a while, I can't remember anyone's name!

When I need gold in Black Gate I just go use the old virtue roulette table in Buccaneers Den. With exult you can move your pile of gold to each colored square as the wheel spins to that color. If you do it right you will win everytime. For Serpent Isle I would either kill trolls as mentioned before, or collect dead monitorian bodies (they seem to be everywhere) and return them to the cremator guy for 200 monetari.

The National Bank of Britain
Robbing the bank of Britain.
It's easy, it's fun and you're gonna learn all about it.

First, find the bank. Now, get a large sack and write 'SWAG' on it (just kidding).

You will need several party members to carry all of that wonderful BOOTY.

Money is tight in the Land so there is only 1400gp in the vault, however this is enough to buy a ship and still have plenty left over for gambling, which is the key to the Universe.

This is the bank.



Right, here's my plan..
Go in, and run the Exchange woman through.
Open her up and you'll find 3 keys inside.
Open the first two doors.
Go to the second room and wait until the guard has moved into the first room.
Now shut the door and lock it.
Ransack this room and the adjoining chamber.
Use the Second Consecration Rule to make all the gold your property.
Unlock the First Door and dump all the booty there.
Go into the Third Room, and try to make the guard go away, so you can lock him out.
Consecrate all the loot and take it away.
Now, pick up the dead exchange woman.
Drag her into Lord British's castle and get him to resurrect her.
Once the woman is back in the now gutted and empty bank, get her to convert all the gold into hard cash.
Make damn sure that you SAVE before doing this...
If you are carrying too much to get all the money, it will disappear off into la-la land, so you will need to reload the game and drop lots of stuff, before getting it exchanged.


IDM: For the Treasury of Britannia, that place is pretty empty.
JPM: What do you mean?
IDM: There isn't much money at all in real terms.
For example, the annual defence budget. There isn't even enough to
replace the Halberds for all of the guards...
JPM: Must be why all these people are running away from the taxman.

Robbing the Jewellery
Before I found the bank, before I even saw Lord British, I came across the Jewellery shop.
First I parked the get-away car outside, and then I went in.



Iolo, you wait here for us. Spark, you distract the manager. I'll open the cases.
It would have gone quite well, if those two morons hadn't decided to come and watch.



Then the guards came, I tripped over my followers and everything fell apart.
Suddenly I remembered why robberies are usually carried out at night...

You can always collect vials of serpent venom that seem to be all over the place and give them to the apothecary in Britain for a decent profit.

And to save money, here's a few tips:

1:) Never EVER get healed by anyone other than Lord British or yourself.
2:) Get the Black Sword ASAP (it'll save tons of die, ressurect, get stuff back runs, especially with the 'death' power)
3:) Never EVER buy a ship if you have FoV, get one for free from Lord British instead
4:) Either way, never and I say NEVER buy a ship from Owen in Minoc. He's a fraud.
5:) Only gamble in Bucanner's Den if you know how to cheat

and finally

6:) Don't buy spells, you can just use archwizard mode anyways :p

Nah, if you want to kill Lord British, just double click the plaque in front of his throne room while he's standing under it (which he tends to do a lot).

If you gonna cheat anyways, then simply use the 'create gold' cheat which creates 100 gold coins. See the cheat commands (alt-h I believe).

False coin made me laugh when i first used it. I thought that it would only duplicate a single coin... so it was much to my surprise when i cast the spell on a stack of 100 coins when they were all duplicated.

why don't you just join the fellowship and do the rat races. If you bet on every lane, you make money. The profits start slow at first, but after a while you'll be raking in the dough.

If you gamble with the rats in buccs den after joining the fellowship, just bet an equal amount on each rat. No matter what the outcome, you gain money.

i remember something i used to do in the original. in the mines, if u hung around the miners, they actually mined, and chopped up the ore. eventually gold nuggets and gems would come up. sadly, i've noticed it doesnt happen in my black gate exult, they just spin around swinging picks, and thats all they do.
