How do i create a 2 storey building? i tried to create a 2 storey building but everytime i attempt to paste a terrain on 2nd storey, it ends up on the ground level (lift 0).
I tried changing the "Edit Lift" to "5" or "6" but it doesnt work.

Re: Map edit for 2nd storey
you can't use a whole chunk to paste it there but you can copy them into combos and while the group of shapes is still selected you can edit their lift.
See the Exult Studio docs for combos

Re: Map edit for 2nd storey
DivineAssault: I have tried exactly the same thing a couple of days earlier and fortunately, it's not too hard.
Use a regular chunk for the floor. Put up walls, a set of stairs (going up) and find a shape that looks like a bunch of planks nailed together (should be fairly large and square). Select the "paint" mode and put this shape somewhere on the screen. Now, go into "move" mode and select this shape and while holding the ctrl key, press the arrows to move around and the page up/page down to move up/down. You can now move this shape to the second floor.
Repeat for a whole floor and you're done!

Re: Map edit for 2nd storey
Thanks all. i think the combo works well. add a few 4x4 tiles together and save it as a combo then edit the lift for the entire combo. Walls and other stuff can be added as well. creates whole floors very quickly by using same combo.
So far i tried using different shapes to act as the 2nd storey floor but only the 4x4 tiles with a thickness of 1 works. using other shapes always crashes the game for mi.
oh yah i tried ur method last time too Artaxerxes . but it is rather tedious and gets a little confusing when there are alot of shapes with different lift.
u should try the combo method. definitely faster.

You can also set the 'edit lift' value in exult studio before you place items.
Re: Map edit for 2nd storey
Also, if you select an item (or group of items) on the screen, there's a pair of keystrokes for changing the lift (something like ctrl-up-arrow or ctrl-pageup, can't recall at the moment).
