Installing Exult 1.1

Can anyone here walk me through the installation of Exult 1.1? I have 1.0 downloaded and installed (with no sound working), and i want to try 1.1 to see if i can screw around and figure out how to get the sound working.

Specs are fine
SB LIVE! Audio is basically the only place im having a difficlt time.

to get sound working read the documentation.
For 1.1.x wait a couple of days and download the official beta which should be around RealSoonNow (TM).
Just install it, when the installer asks set the correct paths to the games and you are good to go.

Just to clarify, i have difficulty actually getting 1.1 installed or am unsure of where to put the files.

I have read through all the zip files looking for some readme that should pertain to my questions, but all i find is the documentation on this site and im havin a hard time with it.

just download the binary snapshot. download the "file needed for 1.1.x snapshot". Install the binary snapshot. Keep in mind the location where you installed it to. The installer asks you where you have BG and SI installed in. Answer that.
After you have finished that installation doubleclick the sdl_mixer.exe (that was the "needed file" you also downloaded). When it asks for the location to extract/install to give it the location I wrote to keep in mind.
Now you should be able to start Exult.

As for music and sound I can only tell you again to read the documentation. I cannot give you easier instructions.

excellent!!! thanks ....i must have had the wrong things before downloaded which prevented me from getting digital music turned on...
