Problem with exult studio...
I updated Exult and Exult Studio today with latest cvs snapshot, but now my exult studio doesn't work right. I can't see any shapes in exult studio. Everything else seems to work though (NPC editing, etc...)
Am I doing something wrong?

Re: Problem with exult studio...
Make sure that you have not patched the shapes.vga, this seems to cause problems viewing shapes in Exult Studio.

Re: Problem with exult studio...
I can't tell what's wrong from the information supplied. I can tell you that ExultStudio reads shapes.vga directly, and doesn't use Exult for that.
Re: Problem with exult studio...
I found a bug that might be related to this:
every shape #0 of any vga file will not be shown when you doubleclick on it. -> meaning the shape info window will open but the part where you normally see the shape will remain dark.
I have to say that atm I'm not using the very latest version and it is now too late to compile now so I'll confirm it tomorrow and will file a proper bug report.

Re: Problem with exult studio...
Well, the problem for me is that the area where I should be seeing shapes is just white and I see no files on the left. I manually open the game through the menu but still does the same thing. Here's the info on my comp...
Windows 2000 SP4, Geforce4Ti4200, Via AC97 Sound, Latest CVS binary snapshots of Exult (7/26/03) and Exult Studio (7/29/03).
I'm going to compile Exult on my Linux computer for now...

Re: Problem with exult studio...
Click on the triangle in front of shape files to expand the tree. Click on shapes.vga to show the shapes.

Re: Problem with exult studio...
Question:
can someone supply a copy of exult 1.1beta2 that's compiled with Exult Studio support? Or should I get the snapshot? Studio doesn't want to connect to either ...

Re: Problem with exult studio...
The snapshot should have exult studio support.
You can check by looking at the first couple of lines of stdout.txt. If the "Compile-time options" line has "USE_EXULTSTUDIO" in it, it supports exult studio.

Re: Problem with exult studio...
The docs of Exult Studio explicitly state (and did before the latest update) that for ES you need to download the snapshot!

Re: Problem with exult studio...
Then it may be another win 2000 issue, as it was connecting fine with the pre 1.1beta1 snapshot but doesn't now ... did it change back from forced win98 connection or something?

Re: Problem with exult studio...
Hey Wizardry, can you be more elaborate? Your last post said you needed a beta2 version with ES support. And we pointed you to the snapshots.
Do you mean that the snapshots no longer work for you?
