to Zaurus users

Post by artaxerxes »

An updated package for Zaurus is about to be released but I need your input.

It is now possible to map the 5 quick access keys (http://www.sharpusa.com/images/hpc_fea_ ... access.gif) to commands for exult (if you use the latest SDL package at http://www.gnurou.org).

Please inform of the mapping you would like to see so I can create the package as soon as possible.

The directional pad is already in use, as are the Ok and Cancel buttons.

Well, the package is already up so here are the shortcuts that were chosen. Thanks to all who provided input!

Please refer to the image in the parent post to see what buttons I am talking about:
* calendar: inventory (like pressing 'I')
* address book: target mode (like pressing 'T')
* home: combat mode (like pressing 'C')
* menu popup: use keys (like pressing 'K' or 'alt-K' depending on BG or SI)
* email: spellbook (like pressing 'B')

You can always change those values in the file: /opt/QtPalmtop/share/exult/keys_bg.txt and /opt/QtPalmtop/share/exult/keys_si.txt

The savegames are now zipped again. It was disabled in the previous package.

The game crashes MUCH less and exiting the game returns (so far) always back to the normal Zaurus interface.

Please note you MUST update your version of SDL to benefit from the Application key shortcuts. The best version to get is at: http://www.gnurou.org/
Get the SDL and SDL-mixer package.

Also, please let me know if there is any problems.
thx

What type of Zaurus is recommended to play this at full speed? I just sold a drum for about 300 dollars, but I don't want to spend more than I need to. I can get a 5800 new, for less than $100 (US).

Slightly OT, is anyone working on a PocketPC OS version of Exult?

Skutarth:
this is the only company I've heard from that sells the latest Zaurus in the North-American market.

I wouldn't buy a SL-5000D. The sl-5500 is out of production in Europe already. Try the Sl-5600 or any of those sold by dynamism.com

So a 5800 would be fine?

What's a ZR-5800? Try searching for it at Sharp's page at:

it is an organizer, not a PDA! It's not even 32bits, but 16 and has 2Mb of RAM!!

Let's be serious, Skutarth... No you cannot run Exult on it so it's a bad idea to buy one!
