Why Games Matter, Ashoka's Changemakers

Post by Robert Benedict »

Online community development is an important aspect of emotional health, this makes Exult a potential entrant for, Why Games Matter http://www.changemakers.net/en-us/compe ... ealthgames. Why Games Matter is an open, collaborative competition, centered around games and health. There is no entry fee and you retain all rights to your game. The opportunities are impressive; beyond the $5,000 prize for the three most innovative entries and the potential for further funding options with The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation is the opportunity to be showcased at the Games for Health conference in Baltimore next May, 2008 as a finalist or winner and opportunity to have 4 key judges, who are all potential funders, view your entry.

I urge for your participation in our current competition and please let me know if you have any questions. All of the application material is located on the website

I think this is an opportunity that should not be missed.

I thank you in advance for your kind attention and consideration and should you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me. I look forward to hearing from you at your earliest convenience.

Looking forward to hearing from you,

Robert

It's okay to post this here, although you could have also posted to the Exult mailing-list.

I'd be interested in applying, but I don't know if our project is relevant. I can see how playing a game like Ultima 7 could benefit players emotionally, but we cannot claim credit for the game, which was created by Origin in the early 90's.

Working collaboratively on open-source must be good for us in some way, or why would we all do it?:-) However, this is true of all open-source projects.
