Re: Linux config file
Should be ".exult.cfg" in your home directory.
Re: Linux config file
The config file is in your home directory. It's named ".exult.cfg". (Note the leading dot.)
Re: Linux config file
thanks guys
its there
but for some reason its still giving me the error
I copied the data files to the default folder
ultima7 to /home/myname/.exult/blackgate
and serpent to /home/myname/.exult/serpentisle
I copied them from a windows mounted File system so the permissions are all rwxr--r-- but I did make users the owner was myname
the error is the same, that it cant file the data files for serpent or u7
any ideas =P

Re: Linux config file
/home/myname/.exult/blackgate
is not the default path. You should enter the path instead of the '.' in

Re: Linux config file
yeah the path where the files are is "/home/fluxrez/.exult/blackgate"
the . means its a hidden folder right?
looking at the config file the default path shows "/home/fluxrez/.exult/blackgate"
I did however get exult to run
but only if I run it directly from the "/home/fluxrez/.exult/blackgate" or "/home/fluxrez/.exult/serpentisle"
its like not an absolute path
weird, so I guess im fine this way
just weird I have to run exult from those folders
but its working, so woot

Re: Linux config file
Did you read my post? /home/.../.exult/blackgate is _not_ the default path.
Re: Linux config file
well when I say "default path"
I mean the path that was already in ".exult.cfg"
which was "/home/fluxrez/.exult/blackgate"
which is where I put the files for u7

Re: Linux config file
Why isn t that folder path filled in by default on nix, like all the other paths that are perfectly well recognised?
Re: Linux config file
Why are you necroposting to a 15 years old thread? We do have defaults now for while http://exult.info/docs.php#path_config_nix
