I thought maybe I would mention because I haven't found a reference to it on the site.
You can use apt-get to install exult and it gave you no problems...
I had some trouble building the source but apt-get worked the first time.

Debian only has Exult 1.0, though... (in unstable and testing; stable even has 0.98)
