Use of Poison

Has anyone found a good use for using posion other than poisoning an enemy that's going to be dead soon anyway (killed with other weapons before the posion takes affect)? I'm finding poion to be less than useful.

Nope. And even that's not a great idea, since I'm pretty sure you won't get experience points if it's the poison that does in the enemy.

well, I remember using the green potion every time I played U6. I'd use it on the guy who walks to you when you leave LB's castle, since attacking him would cause the guards to get on me. So a poison drink on the dude would quiet him forever, without alerting the guards.
Maybe a similar use in U7 could be found.

I found it odd that you could spoon-feed a fire breating dragon a bottle of poison.

I much preferred using the diapers on my enemies. You can use the dirty ones, too.

Well I used a poison potion for tactical suicide

And poison potions suck even as a suicide pill. A low level Avatar can easily withstand the damage, as the potion effect wears off after taking about 10 hit points.
