Diffaculties installing Exult

I've poked around the site for awhile, maybe I'm blind, who knows, but I'm having alot of diffaculty installing Exult and I can't find any support.

Anywho, I start to isntall exult all nice and normal, it shows some box and labled: Exult 1.2 installer. And then, when it['s done. I get this message:

"C:\WINDOWs\SYSTEM32\AUTOEXEC.NT. The system file is not suitable for funning MS-DOS and Microsoft Windows applications. Choose 'Close' to terminate the application"

I then get the choice to close, or Ignore, either or I get absolutely nothing happening.

I'm currently running on... Windows XP, Service Pack 2. I don't think my sound or video card have anything to do it, but I may be wrong.

You obviously didn't search the forums... this exact error message has been handled several times in the last few months.

not to mention that google provides answers for many problems, including this one
Seriously I'd like to know what is causing this (as the microsoft KB is not very detailed).
