Hi all,
First of all, I wish to say 'thank you' for the great work that you performed. Finally, I can play one of my top favorite games on the best computer platform existing: Mac OS X
Yesterday, I discovered a bug, and I do not know if it is a U7 bug that existed already in the original (PC) game, or a bug that was introduced by the Exult version: After visiting Lord British's castle in Britain, I left the castle (with Iolo on my side). At the exit of the castle, there is a bridge and a rope winch. I do not remember how, but I somehow managed to 'climb' onto the rope winch. The problem is: The Avatar cannot exit this winch. He cannot go back to the ground and walk on. He is like prisoned. I tried sending Iolo away since I thought he might be blocking the way,. but it didn't help. No way other than quitting the game ... or attacking Iolo, get killed and resurrected.
Hope that's a bug of Exult and you can fix it!
Cheers
Rainer

The easiest way out is to use the hackmover cheat. It enables you to relocate any object that is on-screen, including the avatar.

I had this once in original BG. I had to use the arrow keys on my keyboard to be able to get off it. And it wasn't easy.
Re: A (severe) bug in Black Gate
You could also use the help spell in your spellbook;-)
Re: A (severe) bug in Black Gate
That reminds me... the Help spell was described as only working once, but I never had a problem casting it multiple times in the original. I assume it's the same with Exult?

I think this can happen when something else, say a bird, just happens to be in the right position so that you can step up onto it and then onto the item you got stuck on.
To see if you're really stuck, you can double-right-click on the ground, which will cause the pathfinder to try to find a way there.
