Exult Studio oops...
I thought I'd change the damage for the Black Sword without really knowing anything about how Exult Studio works. Ok, I run the game and press ctrl-alt-M, open up the Shapes, find the sword and the save it. Otherwise things worked fine but now for some reason none of the character sprites show the weapons they are wielding...
Re: Exult Studio oops...
Well, that was quite easily fixed by deleting files from the patch directory. I'm curious, though. What did I do wrong?
Re: Exult Studio oops...
Out of curiosity: do you have the latest version of Exult Studio?

Re: Exult Studio oops...
Should be. I downloaded them recently. Exult Studio is version 1.1.10 and Exult is version 1.4.01.
Re: Exult Studio oops...
A simple test is this: pick a helm of any kind and double-click it. See the "ready spot" field to the right. If it doesn't say "Helm", you do not have one of the latest versions. The reason is that there were some rather recent bug fixes which might be the issue.

Re: Exult Studio oops...
Well that's interesting. Exult Studio seems to think that the ready spot for every single item is left hand. And I downloaded it just a couple of days ago...
Re: Exult Studio oops...
This is one of the things that was implemented later than a couple days ago It is likely the root of the issue you are having.

Re: Exult Studio oops...
The newest ES is only supposed to be used with the newest Exult, right? May I suggest the build dates (or a new version string) be built into each, and Exult Studio warn or quit with error if it's being used with an incorrect version of Exult. (or Exult warn about ES if you like) I'm generally against "auto-versioning" but this is a little different.
Sorry if you already have that kind of feature; this topic implies it's not there.

Re: Exult Studio oops...
What I mean is... obviously "1.41cvs" isn't sufficient to compare versions.
And having it autogenerated can be annoying for people trying to test code changes locally before updating cvs, so you'd also add an override switch like "--ignore-crc".
Then again, you could manually generate matching flags/strings in ES and Exult when building snapshots. People who build it themselves from CVS already have matching versions, unless they are testing code changes.
