Cheat mode create object command doesnt work

I was trying to create some objects in Black gate and Serpent Isle and it says "not yet available". Why doesnt this cheat work in exult? Can I get it working somehow?

Because we have other means to do it. Yes you can get it working through other means.

1. Use the built in shape browser to find the shape/frame you are looking for and then press the key combination for create item (different for 1.0 and 1.1.x - see the key commands section in the documentation that came with your exult version)

2. use 1.1.x and Exult Studio. See exult studio docs on how to put objects into the game

I tried that way too and it doesn'y work either. I have version 1.0 and the documentation says to hit "insert" to create the selected object chosen from the shapes list. I "chose" and object and pressed insert (and a whole lot of other things) and nothing happened. It kinda sucks since I wanted to get my party a bunch of serpent venom, I hope someone can help me figure this out.

I remember the keys to be either:

"Insert" (key left of "home")
or
Ctrl-C
depending on the version you use. Alternatively, you could modify your bg_keys.txt file.

Ahh it finally worked! The command was ctrl-c even though the documentation says its insert. I checked the bgdefaultkeys.txt file. Thanks for all your help.

hm, does the documentation that got installed with 1.0 say insert as well?

You have to Esc out of the browser back into the game, then hit Instert.
