HELP- how do i know what sound and music settings to pick in

i was able to get both games up and running, for the first time in many years, but was wondering what i type in the the sound and music config, and how i find out, thanks for any help

that which works fine for you. Remember you don't need to run the soundconfiguration for Exult.

i havent gotten exult to work yet- ive been using another program that runs both games under windows

I guessed that. It still holds true that you juast have to try which is best for you.

i dont know how- i have a few choices for sound card, then i have to pick a port, then a dma, then an irq, and i havent gotten a combination to work yet.

What version of Windows are you using? What kind of sound card(s) do you have? What are the IRQs and DMA settings for them as reported by Device Manager in windows? These are the sorts of things we need to know before we could begin to help.

More to the point, if you're using U7win9x and U8win9x as it sounds like you are then there is gallons of useful info on how to get the games running with sound cards on the homepage of those two utilities (http://members.iinet.net.au/~rsd/U7inWindows.html). Check there first, as it already says pretty much everything any of us could suggest in this matter.
