Hello there, I've been looking around the web for the AWE/SBLive! MT-32 Soundfont file. I can remember that this file was distributed with the AWE Series but sadly not with the SBlive! ... anyone who knows where I could download the soundfont because I could not find it at all. *frowns* ... thanks
Beni

Yes and no... there are bloody tons of soundfonts for download, most of them are GM/GS etc or so, but I'm really just looking for a rather poopy MT32 soundfont file distributed with the AWE series... think just 70kb or so, just small lil ol MT 32 sound font... *sighs* ... 70kb that I simply cannot find...

I'll check my AWE64 disk tonight. I recall it coming with an MT-32 sound font, matter of fact, that is how I first played U7

On that site there is a synthmt.sbk which is meant to be the soundbank for mt32 for the awe32.
I really do wish that creative would just allow downloads of driver disks instead of the mess they currently have.
It's infuriating when you buy a awe32 and soundblaster without driver disks. It's hard to tell what files you need from creative's site.

Just to add what I said above, there is a file that creative says contains 3 .sbk files but it doesn't. It's called awedw3up.exe and it contains nothing like it's listed it's supposed to.

I don't think that having a MT-32 soundfont is enough to get that vintage sound. The MT-32 is a rather strange beast, which responds to all sorts of weird tricks to make it produce different sounds. You might be able to get a "similar" sound, but nothing will beat music written for an MT-32 played on a "real" MT-32.
