Hello, I have been running Exult under MorphOS and the game plays fine, though I have noticed that there does not seem to be any sort of back ground noise or music.
Seeing as I have never played the original through the DOS executable, I am unsure as to what is normal for Ultima 7 and what is not.
I can say that I have downloaded and installed the audio packages from this site and have configured Exult to see them, though in the log file I see one error that perplexes me as I do not see mention of this error on this site nor on Google.
It reads as such:
Digital SFX's file specified: PROGDIR:data/sgsfxbg.flx... but file not found.
So what is sgsfxbg.flx and where do I get it? Is this the missing link to my lack of music and ambience within the game?
Thankx in advance!

Re: Missing "sgsfxbg.flx" in MorphOS
Sorry, I now see what I was missing. I thought I could use any of the Audio packs and did not realize that I HAD to have the Roland pack in order to get these files.
Going home to give this a try, if I have problems, I'll be back.
BTW, thankx a million for Exult, this project is amazing!!!!!

Glad you figured it out. We don't know much about the MorphOS port since Tomjoad who did the porting didn't share much with us and hasn't been active for years.
Would be interesting whether current SVN still compiles for MorphOS

Re: Missing "sgsfxbg.flx" in MorphOS
That seems to be the way of things in the world of "hobby OS's". People tend to jump on ship and port a bunch of things over, but as their excitement dies down they drift away, never to be heard from again, which is sad because MorphOS has a WONDERFUL playstation emulator that seems to have been abandoned before they added in Joystick support, meaning RPG's are about the only thing one can play reasonably well with it.
Thankfully this does not seem to be the case with Exult. From what I've played thus far, everything seems to work as it should, well as I believe it should considering I never played Ultima 7 via DOS, but you know...
...it don't crash, and it runs smooth, so as long as it can be completed, I'm happy!!!
Thankx again for all your efforts! I'm really starting to see what all the hype is about in regards to Ultima VII. They just don't make RPG's like this anymore do they?
