This might be a Linux issue and not an Exult issue, I'm not sure. Here's my situation:
When I run Exult as root, I can save games just fine. When I play as my main user account, it crashes everytime I try to save.
I logged in as root and, using Gnome, right clicked the Exult binary and clicked on the Permissions tab. I then checked everything for Read Write and Execute for Group and Others access permissions.
But still, if I try to save as my other user account, it crashes.
Is there something that I'm missing here? I'm confused as to why it works fine in root, but not my other user account. I don't want to use root as my main account as I understand that makes me a security flaw begging to be exploited since I have a cable modem.
Any help here would be fabulous, and again, I'm sorry for asking so many Linux questions here...I am a beginner, but I'm starting to get a grasp...I just really want to play Ultima! =)
Sorry to keep asking for help with Linux, but...

Re: Sorry to keep asking for help with Linux, but...
You need to have write permission in the directory where the savegames go. (This is currently the U7 directory. We'll probably change this in the future)
Oh, you don't need to give everyone write permission on the exult binary, btw. That would only mean they can overwrite it.
