Sourceforge problem = danger for exult?

Post by artaxerxes »

Hi all,

here goes:

Does the exult team have a back-up plan in case sf stops?

well, we wouldn´t loose the code for sure as everyone of the devellopers has a pretty updated source on his local hard drive, so no worry about that and if you look further down the page the Dircetor of SF says not to worry (I hope he´s right). Aside from that I don´t believe that SF would vanish overnight.

Yes, the worst that happens is that we lose the 'history' of the source code. We'd also lose the bug list, but that's really short at the moment:-)

My guess is that if VA Linux went under, another company would take over sponsorship of SourceForge. If it did go away, I'd look to GNU for support.
