Re: New Savage Empire Sprites
Thank you all!
The myrmidex will go through some changes as it is a WIP though this overall design is it!
The legs will be slightly resized to accommodate another segment. I have two separate types of frames for attacking (on all six legs for mandible attacks & upright for front leg attacks.)
I have many experimental frames in progress & soon I will be going back to a couple of items for Agentorangeguy's Ulrima VI project.

Re: New Savage Empire Sprites
Thanks! I drew it over a couple of hours the other night, after I finished tweaking the graves for Agentorangeguy's Ultima VI project (all that is left there is some shading.)

New Barrab tribe sprites posted.
Re: New Savage Empire Sprites
I have to admit that I have a bit of imaginative problems with the jaguar Knight. Too many pixels looking similar for me to be able to imagine it in game.
Barrab Tribe looks great though

Re: New Savage Empire Sprites
Thanks all!
Thank you, Dominus, for the feedback on the jaguar knight. I like to post WIPs now & then to get feedback, good or bad, in order to improve on sprites.
I am having difficulty presenting him in the way that I want because of all of then yellow in such a small sprite. It was actually easier to draw an actual jaguar as well, even with the yellow, because the spots are more realistic. The a human sprite, the left arm covers up a huge area where more detail would help a lot.
I am thinking of keeping the jaguar mask & feathers but using a standard guard body.

He might look better when animated and in game.now that I looked at it on a small screen (iphone) I think a bit more contrasting colors and maybe a tad darker yellow might help or maybe his face darker.

I agree that darkening the face w
Sometimes I want to draw some of the NPCs with their arms down, ala Ultima VI. Ultima VII of course requires NPC hands to be in a certain spot foor weapon handling. However, some characters could be drawn with a weapon. That is how I am handling shields & I am thinking about drawing permanent spear frames.
I -could- redraw the held weapon frames for arms hanging down. That wouldn't be too difficult. Though, playing with the offset values is always tedious.
I will play with the jaguar knight a bit more. Sometimes the NPC comes out quickly & great, such as the Sakkhra & Barrab. Some require heavy tweaking trhough. Some are an absolute pains-in-the-rear, such as Darden & Aiela.
