This story on Slashdot at the moment is quite interesting: http://slashdot.org/articles/02/06/26/1 ... ml?tid=127
It seems Lucasarts have noticed the ScummVM project, which is an effort to create a version of the SVU engine used in Lucasarts aventures like Secret of Monkey Island etc which can work on modern systems. As this is pretty similar to Exult it should interesting to see where this goes.
ScummVM site is here: http://scummvm.sourceforge.net/

Re: ScummVM & Lucasarts - Implications for Exult?
Maybe it's better not to get noticed:-)
Re: ScummVM & Lucasarts - Implications for Exult?
From the letter Lucasarts sent to the project, it seems they mistook the ScummVM engine for the original Scumm engine.
Re: ScummVM & Lucasarts - Implications for Exult?
Apparently they thought they were abandonware. Which is baloney.

Re: ScummVM & Lucasarts - Implications for Exult?
One big question: What will SourceForge do if/when LucasArts asks them to shut down ScummVM's site?
Re: ScummVM & Lucasarts - Implications for Exult?
#1 Belly-over and shut it down
#2 Tell LucasArts that it doesnt violate US copyrights.
