So, any suggestions on the problem I've encountered (i.e. issues with spellbook, above)? I'm not sure whether it's a bug, or that I've just done something wrong with the installation...

Hello Iostone,

I encountered the same problem, after arrival the spellbook crashes the game and several items have wrong names, for example Dupre's shield and the Magebane Sword.

b.t.w.: just noticed something about the create missiles spell: in the original it would create bolts if the avatar had a crossbow equipped, now its only arrows....

Iostone, Thara: try deleting the "textmsg.txt" file in the patch dir. Does the crash still happen (I am unable to test this myself this week).

Thara: Actually, the create missiles spell only created bolts if no one in the party had bows *and* someone had a crossbow. Bows and crossbows didn't need to be equipped for this either.
