[03:05:04] Where have you been?
[03:05:06] Any way, still working on 3D.
[03:06:31] I've been around -- busy.
I'm not sure if that means Exult3D.

This sort of project definitely adds some depth to U7. I like how accurate your model recreations are. Sure, the NPCs might be a little, err, flat, but hey, it's not even alpha code, right?
You might want to check out IRIS some time. I'm sure some of these people would be more than happy to help on this project, seeing as the goals are somewhat similar, and it looks like their modelers know what they're doing. UO + U7 3d frontends would be the shizznizzle.
I can't wait to see the finished product!

I'm not sure, but I think the aim of this engine is to recreate the 3D graphics, using only the models already in Ultima.
(That would explain the flat characters, since they are flat ingame

99% offtopic but... well, it's 3d, and it's using u7 graphics extracted by Exult studio
I have some minutes-per-day to work again on my game, so here are a couple alpha screenshots. I abandoned the cartoonish look and added projective shadows... but nothing more for now :\

Very nice, especially the shadows.

Yep the shadows are adding a lot, and I don't enjoy this fact: it gives a point to who says that good graphics are the core of game, as opposed to hardcore oldschool nostalgics like us
Speaking of which...ahem...adding projective shadows to Exult shouldn't be hard no? I think I repeat myself as I often do - but isn't it just a matter of redrawing a shape entirely in "blending black", flipped on it's y axis?
(the werewolf is a md2 model I downloaded from...uhm...polycount maybe?)

We should pull a "tenebrae" (modified quake engine -
http://tenebrae.sourceforge.net/shots8/quake93.jpg ) - and make exult3d so graphic-intensive that it'll bring a 3GHz/9800pro system to its knees
Just think - automatic generation of gloss and normal maps for all the textures, real time lighting + soft shadows, *drools*
j/k..

I would be really happy any of these 3D projects are finished.
I HATE the animations in the original. ;_;
The walk animation looks stupid
