and thinking about it, it doesn't make sense.
The automatons are static figues, you can equip them, but they are just puppets. Making them level up would make them sentient...

Well make them sentient being. They have right to live, they are NPC who takes place of Iolo, Sham and Dupré. Petra have sentiment.
Maybe I watch to much sci-fi, sorry

Sorry for my delay in posting the new stuff to Aiera. Due to some unfortunate circumstances, I wound up being quite unexpectedly away from home until July 1.
It was rather unfortunate too, since I hadn't packed additional clothes. I am now very sick of a shirt I had previously loved, having worn it three days straight. Sleeping on floors also added a measure of "suck" to the end of the week.

ok.. finally tried it
unfortunately, your fix for dropping the usecode container didnt work.. now it just waits until you make any move after casting the spell to drop it, and instead of dropping it full, it drops it and then drops every egg from inside it :\
aside from that everything seems to be working perfectly
another suggestion tho... have the basement of the tower get cleaned up to look like the other towers as well as teh rest of the tower when the gobbies are dead

Well make them sentient being.
they are still man made. To have them advance in abilities you wouldn't train them but upgrade them and there is no automaton upgrader in the game
Maybe I watch to much sci-fi, sorry

it works if you replace the '/' before 'zip' with a '.' ;P
just copy the address and make the change.. should read '.zip' instead of '/zip'

Well, replacing the / with a . was the first thing i tried. Unfortunately IE produced only an error-message.
After your message I tried a download manager, and behold! - it worked.
Thanx!

Could anything be done about 'smuggling' your party members into the Dream Realm using Serpent Bond? Or is that fixed already in Exult?

you aren't supposed to take your party members, so no need for fixing it.
Edit: I'm an ass. Sorry, totally misunderstood your message.

My initial reaction about Gorlab Swamp was that it would be difficult to fix. How I was wrong... Now, when you wake up in the Dream World, you are in your normal shape and no companions in sight. I waited quite a bit, and they didn't return; but immediatelly when I returned to the normal world, they were back in the party, as expected.

lol i use that trick all the time. The Serpent Bond while going into the swamp. Its like heaven lol.
I don't consider it cheating, since its a developer flaw.
Too bad no-one ever discovered how to get to Cat Isle.
My favorite place is Erstam's Retreat. Hehe...

you can get to claw by way of a teleporter hidden behind a tree in the garden next to the main council building in Monitor... you need to stack some crates to reach the right height to get it to work

I have several other "fix" suggestions, that are really rather minor -- but I thought I would go ahead and mention them.
1) When asking for information about strange objects, the severed hand never comes up as an option (with Harnna (Monitor), Jendon (Fawn), or Bucia (Moonshade)) - as it did in the original game. Whether this is a bug in my savegame, or an overall issue, I don't know.
2) You gave the companions something to say after they are cured. How about doing the same for the companion who is kidnapped by Rotoluncia (after you free him)? As it is now, they act like there is nothing unusual as you ask them to re-join your party.
3) Also, this is even more minor - but I have noticed that whenever you leave Fawn, the guard at the gate tells you to behave yourself while you are there. I always thought he should say this when you enter Fawn instead.
As I said, very minor points.

Re: 1: It is an issue in your savegame, most likely. I compared the code with the original, and there is no reason why it shouldn't work. So I started Exult and tested; the options appear here normally.
Re: 2: That is a nice idea. I will have to see if it is doable, though.
Re: 3: I will check that.

I seem to recall that, when asking for information about strange objects, you could only get some of the subjects at once; you needed to clear some out of the way before others would take their place.

For the least I can play without crashing because of the midi stuff.

Random patch question: What happened to companions getting upset at the Avatar stealing in BG? I clearly remember Iolo being like "Is that virtuous?" and then later trying to leave after I stole a bunch of stuff. Any ideas?

After some time (a lot of time, really), they will join again if you ask them.

The stealing/killing thing was the most goddamn annoying feature, I'd suggest making it an option, when it is implemented.

I might take another look at "stealing" soon.

Your companions are virtuous, even if you're not. If you want to steal, don't do it while they're around.
The one issue that I had with it was that there were a number of things laying about that were flagged as stealing even when there was no good reason for them to be - like some groups of caltrops in dungeons.

I seem to remember that all gold was free to take. Is that true ? The first thing I did in all BlackGate games were stealing the contribution box the the local fellowship branch and nobody ever complained.

Sometimes I find the concept of "justice" in U7 to be a bit... harsh you know. Most of times it involves just killing =/ Sometimes I have hoped that there was a little more "human" way of handling all that...

And what about to cure the insanity bug of Selina (Conversation loop) after her resurection in the City of order (Before/After the activation of the Wall of Light)
Can we be able to resurect her ?
If no - Remove the usecode to resurect her
If yes - She will be anger against the Avatar or want a "pardon"

Hmmm. Maybe have her not be resurrectable after her death there. She seemed rather fanatical about Batlin, and you *did* kill her just moments before

Marzo - I've been playing SI with your patch installed, and I think I just found a bug. I did the Maze in the SS addon and exited and asked the companions to rejoin me. They all use the dialogue that you added for after they are resurrected and cured of the banes' influence.
If you want me to send you a savegame, I'll be glad to do so - just let me know.
