This sounds very, very promising, assuming it is finished. And it's being done in an engine that I, as Mac user, can run on my machine. I hope this one turns out well.

The remake

MMAzrael Dragon's remake. The screenshots are very promising, that's why I think there's quite a future for that remake.

Neverwinter Nights is supposed to be ported to Mac but I haven't heard of that in a long time. Just hope it is more bugfree than the PC version.
Things that bother me about this mod:
- ever heard of a party? So far NWN allows only for one NPC to be a party member (+ one or two PC-created creatures). U8 and U9 failed because there was no party (well, not exactly because of this :-))
- This mod starts on earth... reminds me again of U9...

But that aside I'm interested in how it will turn out.

As far as I know (which isn't much!), the guy'll be using the Henchmen add-on for NWN, so that may address the party issue. As for the second issue... well, it seems he's just trying to recreate the introduction in a different way.

Dominus, as of patch 1.26 for neverwinter nights plenty of bugs have been fixed, and they are still releasing patchs (descent ones) every month/2 months. I'm not totally sure that the Black Gate NWN project will work because NWN doesn't support humungous areas, and Ultima 7 (IMO) needs these to make it seem like a true adventure. Plus, plenty of new models will be needed, they can't just use the ones from the game because they look dull and boring. Also, I think you can have more than one party member, that are ways to edit the game to allow for this.

It shall be good they port a linux client. Apperently it's in full development.

I'm actually keeping watch on those patches as I'm playing the single player campaign currently. But so far it often seems that Bioware is more busy fixing the bugs introduced with their bugfixes :-)
Seriously it works okay for me.
What do you mean by humungous areas? Vast areas? These can be supported by maps you have to walk through. Doesn't make the world seem as huge as the original but might work.
As for multiple henchmen this is interesting as that damn NWN single player only allows one henchmen.

I was playing around with the Morrowind editor and am at the moment trying to build the arrival in trinsic stage just for fun - it would be a mammoth task (and a pointless one) to recreate the entirety of BG in Morrowind, but I think it is the only RPG to come even close to the freedom of BG (IMHO ;). And it has beautiful landscapes. Shame it doesn't have the same sense of humour tho'
