I went to Dino's website and it was pretty good...

However, I saw in the copyright section that in Serpent Isle, the below 2 questions were never asked by Thoxa. But I distinctly remembered them being asked. My brother even recalled the 1st answer: Drogeni (which strangely had 7 letters..)

Can someone confirm this?

Maybe after SS were installed, the questions will start to appear....

I am sure the Drogeni question was asked, this is because I kept getting it wrong. Drogeni had 7 letters obviously, but the answer is 6!


The second question was also familiar..I remember ansewering it wrongly at 3 because I thought it was asking for how cities were establish...

Can you check this out? Perhaps the usecode cannot be meant literally?

Hmm..maybe in the original Serpent Isle, those questions were asked. But because the answers were incorrect, they were removed by Silver Seed.

Anyway, just appealling to your memories, do you remember these questions at all?

Now if someone owns a copy of SI WITHOUT SS, I'm willing to decompile its usecode file and extract the exact questions. I will of course delete the usecode file once finished.

I'm certain I had the lambskin gloves question as well.

I just refered to the manual.

The answer to the lambskin glove was 7 (Drogeni).
The answer to the cities is 3 (three principal areas - Moon, Fawn and the sister settlements of the Montors).

Hence Silver Seed must had patched these questions away since their answers were incorrect.

I am pretty sure Artaxerxes is accurate and that the questions should only be asked in Serpent Isle minus SS...

now that's possible... However I don't think his set of question crosses Thoxa's set on even one question.

The answer to the question about the cities really is 4. In Ultima 3 the cities of East Montor and West Montor were on either side of a river along the southern coast. In the Serpent Isle manual clearly refers to this, with such phrases as the Two Montors, Twin Montors, and even "the sister settlements of The Montors."

So...

Fawn was settled by people from Dawn.
Moonshade was settled by people from Moon
Monitor was settled by people from East Montor and West Montor.

The manual mentined '3 principal areas', so it might be a trick question or just plain misleading.

Anyway, it must have been patched away for being too difficult a question...

Might well be I confused this one... I just rember some question about settlements, and then again, when I try to remember, the question about "how many settlements where established" seems to be closer to it...

I think in my spanish version of Serpent isle (w/o the SS) these questions are aske but has been a long time since I played it so perhaps I´m wrong
