While playing Fourge of Virtue w/ Exult 1.00, I cannot get the demon out of the mirror and into the gem. I assume this gem is the Ether Gem, because I got it from the dragon and it has a nimbus around it. I forge the sword and I hold the gem, but the demon keeps urging me to transfer him to the gem, no go.

Is this a bug, or am I doing something wrong?

Please help. I'd like to complete this game fully.

doubleclick the gem and then click the crosshair on the mirror. This is a common mistake (happened to me years ago and the first time I plyed it with Exult)

Yes, but when I double-click the gem, it disapears, no crosshairs. Is this a bug?

Is there a work-around or cheat that would allow me to continue the story line?

can you file this as a bug with a savegame before you doubleclick the gem?

Try putting the gem in your hand then doubleclick the mirror.

Otherwise, yes, the gem shouldn't vanish.

That's the gem that LB gave you to show you where the keep is. It should display an image of the keep when you use it. (and then shatter)

Btw, I was wrong about attacking the mirror. You just need to double click the gem while it's in your hand.

This should be the same problem, yes. The ether gem does not have a nimbus around it.

Yes, I believe he is trying to use the viewing crystal that Lord British gives you before sending you to the Isle. It shatters (disappears) after you use it. The ether gem is much smaller.

And the verdict is.... idiocy! Thank you everyone. That little blue gem was hidden in my pack.

I wonder... had anyone NOT first tried to use the viewing crystal to trap the demon?

I didn't! I shattered the viewing crystal upon my first arrival at the Isle of Fire, so it wasn't around to mistake for the ether gem later!
