Hello. Well, thanks: the first playable demo is very slowly surfacing,
I just haven't the time to code recently, my real job is 100% different
To answer your first question, I just save the graphic from Exult Studio
as well. The resulting bitmaps are certainly small: the Ultima VII
graphics were meant to be for a 320x200 screen after all. I didn't resize them, so I don't know what's wrong. Please attach me some of the bitmaps you extract, so that I can tell you if you really have a problem with Exult studio, or not. The engine is an old 2d graphic engine I first made
years ago, "Disappearing Pancake" (ahem), I just added a couple FX (shadows, lights etc.).
It's particularity is that it doesn't use DirectX, just the Windows API.
People tends to forget how powerful Win32 API are, even without any
additional support
