Something that is really bugging me, and I cann't my self work out how to do it. (Don't even know where to start)

But, I'm figuring that the 'runes' that show up when you look at some signs etc must be images some where, and so, it should be fairly easy to supply a set of 'translated' images, so all the signs read in english with out having to spend hours pouring over the manuel?

Has anyone done anything like this? or point me in the right direction so I can try myself? )

There's a cheat that does this, IIRC. Something about setting the translation flag on the avatar. Try playing with the npc editor in the F2 cheat menu a bit.


The runes are a special font, btw, so the images should be in fonts.vga.

Here is the alphabet. It's also in the ultima7.hlp file if you are running Windows. What I do is I print this one page and tape it to the bottom of my screen. Hope this helps.

I don't know if the U7 program stores these rune strings or generates them dynamically, but it's not so hard if you use a page like this. Soon you will recognize "trainer" and "town hall" etc.

Well im a sick individual and got to the point where i have memorized the runic alphabet. I haven't tryed to learn the serpent alphabet cause that stuff hurts my eyes
