Exult Forum

I have been using Exult for a fair while now, and only just came back to the site and noticed Exult Studio. What I would like to know is, is there a way to create an entirely new game from nothing.

What I mean is that to keep all the original code and all, but is there a blank template to create the world from? I ask this because I noticed it says that you need to open up Exult first and then you mess around with the game that way.

I'm working on a new world from scratch. You will either need to create a *lot* of new artwork yourself, or use the art from BG or SI. Doing the latter means that you can't redistribute your new game to people without the appropriate game, of course.

Also look for recent posts by me since I'm trying to do this myself and have been bugging the developers everytime I'm stuck.

Oh, and take a look at the "island patch" for Usecode examples. The one in the Exult source is newer than the one on the website. Grab the latest CVS, and look in the exult/content/islefaq/ directory.

Thanks for the help guys.

And then think of suggestions for making the process easier. Karl's already suggested a 'chunk fill' tool. If it keeps raining here all weekend, maybe I'll start on that:-)
