Missing Shrine Music

In the Ultima music files there are 7 songs dedicated to the shrines. Normally there would be 8, but due to to the nature of the shrine of sacrifice there isn't any music. However, if you visit the shrine of humility on the Isle of the Avatar, it doesn't have any music playing either. All the other ones do, but the shrine of humility's music doesn't play for some reason. Is this a bug in Exult or in Ultima?

In the latter.

Thank you.
I think I meant Shrine of Spirituality instead of Sacrifice, but you knew what I meant.
So did they just leave out the music trigger? Does anyone know if the music is played anywhere else in the game?

Actually, they should both play music; they did in the original. I will see what is preventing them from playing in Exult.

No, the trigger is there; what isn't there, so to speak, is the music.
You can try this little experiment to see for yourself: grab expack (either from the Windows tools snapshot or compile it yourself). Put it into your BG STATIC dir and run the follwing from the command-line:
Code: Select all
expack -x ADLIBMUS.DAT 48 && expack -x ADLIBMUS.DAT 49 && ren *.u7o *.mid
This will extract songs 48 and 49 from ADLIBMUS.DAT and rename them to mid ifiles; music 48 is the song from the shrine of Spirituality, 49 the one which should play in the shrine of Humility. You can then play them with your favorite media player; they are plain midi files. You will notice that song 48 plays but song 49 doesn't (and is ~100 times smaller than the former).
