Whose magic carpet?

OK, this is a little strange.

I'm using the 3/12 Win32 build. I get the magic carpet and fly back to Britain and land between the Fellowship hall and the inn. Batlin comes out of the hall shouting 'Thief!' and 'Who moved my chair?' and promptly plants himself in one of the empty seats on the carpet. So I hack-move him into the hall and he immediately jumps up and runs back to the carpet. I move him again and lift off but he jumps back on as the carpet rises. I move him again and get away before he can react.
