U8 in Windows :(

Hi again.

I'm having trouble trying to get Pagan to run in Windows. I have downloaded everything that the U8Win9x readme says, and now I am stuck. I've added the files=40 to the config but I still cannot get it to work.

The only problem I can really see is that I haven't done the config thing right. What I did was open up the properties of the U8W file and then added it to the config.sys stuff in the Advanced tab. Is this the right place to put it? And if so, why doesn't it work?

If anyone can help me here, I will be so grateful... that i'll... uh, nevermind. ;)

1. This is not the U8Win9x forum.

2. Which Windows version are you using? (for example, if you are using windows 3.11 it will not work)

3. Look at the homepage of "Ultima 8 in Windows". I'm sure the link is in the readme. It is also in our links page (to give you some help: http://members.iinet.net.au/~rsd/U8inWindows.html). Read the instructions there and maybe they'll help you.

What exactly do you mean by "I can't get it to work?" Does it give any error message? Crashes?

Sorry about it not being in the right forum. I ended up getting it to work, after having a look at the site you suggested. Seems as though I had downloaded the wrong update patch.

Thanks for your help and sorry about the inconvenience.

Dominus, don't be harsh...
This is the most popular Ultima site on the net! What better place to ask?

Actually I don't have anything against asking but
1. I want to make sure that people are aware that this is generally not a general ultima forum so it doesn't get out of hand and especially

2. I want people to get a better grip on how they can help themselves before having to ask. Like first going to the original page of the patch and read the help there or first reading documents and FAQs.
