Are there any projects to make plot fixes?

BG and SI have a multitude of little plot holes that could warrant some fixing. Does anyone here know if anyone has attempted such a project? For example, what happens to that girl you rescue who gets sent to the monks in SI...

btw, I was refering to Cantra in SI...
It's a shame that no one has started up something yet. I'd do it myself, but I'm already involved in two other mods, a fangroup and in between have to study and work...

I've made a little fix for the liqueur bug in BG and the inability to ask some people about Dupre in BG French.

Is that both for BG French, or is the other for BG English. Are you planning on doing any other fixes? And where can one download them?

The liqeuer bug is for BG English, because in French BG there isn't a problem.
The Dupre bug is in BG French because in BG english there isn't a problem
As for the fixes, well I sent them to the Exult team but they never found the time to post them anywhere.

This bug affected Rankin the fellowship leader in Moonglow and the quest to find who poisoned the liqueur.
Basically, there were two conversation options titled liqueur.
So when you selected liqueur in the conversation you could never be given the option to find the murderer.
With the little patch, you could be given the quest to find out who poisoned the liqueur.
Of course the quest can't be finished because the murderer doesn't exist, but still...

Rankin is the murderer. You just can't do anything about it.

I've always wondered about Petra in SI having a soul. The automatons are rather limited, but Petra is different. Since this is the mage from which you get the soul prism spell. And stealing one's soul has tended to be an anathema in most cultures, I tended to imagine that the mage that created Petra (Traluucio?) actually stole the soul of that naked girl camped out at the top of Moonshade Island (where the Avatar catches the transport to Erstam's island). Splicing it into the plot as a blackmail point to get the spell from that mage would obviate the need for philander's friend. Just a passing thought when you mentioned plot gaps

Actually, what I suspect is that Petra was one of the original Ophidians who had their soul transferred into an automaton in ages past. Time and whatever damage occurred in the meantime voided that memory.
That is essentially what Torissio was doing in the first place - finding old automatons and repairing them, rather than creating them entirely from scratch.

I could never find the item that gets swapped for the bottle of wine in the storm in SI. I assume it was at the winery as somebody makes a comment to that effect but there are no speech topics about it iirc. Maybe I didnt pick enough locks there but I was completely stumped.

all the walkthrough indicate that no object got swaped for this bottle. It just got teleported in your backpack.
Additionally, you could compare the list of items given by LB and the list made by your companions.

I can't remember if it was mentioned in the game, the manual, or the clue book, but apparently the bottle of wine was supposed to swap with a map of Britannia that you would have had at the start of the game. Seems that they forgot to actually add the map, though.

Three subplots that seem unresolved to me and could use a solution include:
- Cantra after she has been rescued. Her fate is never resolved.
- The unicorn quest - it is never properly resolved - you can get the unicorn to say he may visit cosmo, but it is never followed up. Additionally, ophelia doesn't really talk about him.
- Your love interest in cove in BG doesn't really go anywhere... it's implied otherwise in conversation with the unicorn.

The BG love interest (Nastassia) is mentioned subsequently in Ultima Underworld 2 (at least the manual). She came out of her mourning and was leading the restoration efforts around Cove and the nearby lake.
