Starting at Moonshade

I noticed that the Moonshade NPCs come first in the game code. Does anyone
know if it was originally planned the the journey would start at Moonshade
instead of Monitor? (when you think about, it would probably make sense
for the ship to come to an island first, instead of the main continent).

Speaking of which; if you bribe Spektor to let Iolo out, and then go to the Sleeping Bull, take Selena to the mint to get the gold bar, and free Captain Hawk, you can go straight to Moonshade. You can then continue with the game and, in fact, you need only to return to Monitor and Fawn to gain the two magical items. And since you'll have the ability to use magic, the Knight's Test will be far easier, as will the assault on the Goblin compound. Not to mention the fact that you can now go to the Silver Seed, since the Spellbook
will give you what you need to finish off Aram-Dol.
Perhaps they moved you over to Monitor because this made the game too easy...

from the early draft that was posted here some time ago I think it was always Monitor that was supposed to be the starting point.
But from a development point of view (or from the artists pov) it could be that Moonshade was just the first city that was done.
It makes more sense to start with one city and do all the NPCs instead of doing them "plotwise".
