Another inconsistency?

Immediately after freeing Gwenno from the ice, I used the Hourglass and the female Monk came and resurrected her. Gwenno immediately began a conversation with me, talking to me as though she were already on Monk Isle. After breaking off conversation, she lapsed into her 'twisted soul' mode.
I could be wrong, but I don't think that I was supposed to be able to get that conversation yet. But what did I do that was out of order? Is she supposed to to join me so I can take her to Monk Isle? Or was I supposed to wait and resurrect her there? If so, shouldn't the Hourglass be blocked from working on her while still in the Gwani Death Temple?

Now the problem is worse. I checked a walkthrough which indicated I was supposed to carry Gwenno to Monk Isle to be ressurected by any Monk. But none of the Monks will do it. They all offer to ressurrect her, but then say "Thy friend Gwenno is lost forever." If I use the Hourglass, it works, but then the same anachronism as above happens.

Okay, they resurrected her when I put her down, but she still starts the conversation that I don't think she is supposed to start until I restore her sanity.

My very first game of the original SI, I made the mistake of using the hourglass to resurrect her there.
She *was* bonkers like she should have been, but she also stayed there for the rest of the game. Which meant that every subsequent time that I needed to visit, I had to go traipsing off to the death temple island again. Sigh...

It's hard to believe that the original game could have had such monumental flaws, particularly ones like this that can be triggered so logically. The first thing that I thought of when I saw Gwenno dead was the Hourglass.
On the other hand, I would not have thought of using the Hourglass after releasing the Banes had I not read about it elsewhere. If you use it in the room where you fought Selena, your companions get "resurrected" so they can fight themselves later on. Oops!
Is there a way to correct any of these flaws, particularly the ones that a gamer could logically trigger without going out of their way? Or is it just far too much trouble?

that's what I said: Let's make a site, which holds all those pb (like Cantra's unended plot, etc) and let's make ONE patch that corrects them all, by modifying usecode at the right place (and possibly other files).

For now, I added both these problems to our usecode_bugs.txt file.

Thanks. Don't forget the explodable doors and the inconsistencies that they trigger, as I mentioned in another post ("Confusion at the White Dragon").

Note that the link only shows version 1.5 of that file, so any future changes to usecode_bugs.txt won't show up there.

As long as we're adding usecode errors to the list, why not include the infamous "list field bug" where the pikeman who allows you to train vanished if you are standing too close to him when you open the banquet hall doors?
Another list field problem: I have been unable to train for a long time. Although the pikeman is there, when I go to train, no matter what the time or whom I ask for, he always tells me "Sorry, no one's around," or words to that effect.

Yes, the pikeman egg bug is a good one.
Do you have a savegame for the other bug?

Is anybody around on the Field? The bug could be that they're not there when they're supposed to be, or that they are there, but the Usecode function isn't finding them.
I've seen this myself, but never got a handle on it.

Yes, they ARE on the field, but the Pikeman always says they're not. I'll see if I have a savegame. Where would I send it?
Although, could it be possible that the AM/PM time bug is causing the Pikeman to think I am asking him at midnight? It is certainly possible that I have only asked during that hour, though I have done it several times. I'll have to check.
