It's pretty much extabilished (or not?) that what every coder here would be curious to see, is how the pathfinding algorythm was implemented into the original Ultima VII code.
What other pieces of code would you be pleased to see? For example: Commander Keen's scrolling, Duke Nukem lighting, and so on. Try to be original

Someone knows that C-64 game with the 3D-engine? I can't remember the name, it was a real 3D polygonal environment where you could walk around and look up/down or crouch. It ran with 1FPS max though. I think it had less of an story than doom, but I liked it because at that time those things could easily impress me. It played in an alien pyramid or something.
I think the source of Duke has been released, hasn't it? There is already a Linux-port, though I don't know how well that one works.
Speaking of engines, has anyone an easy to use, tile-based game engine for Java which I could use?

I had a pirate copy of it (re?)named "Dark Castle": it was quite scary but unplayable due to the frame rate. At that time I was totally unaware of computing, but someone told me that "it ran better on the C128". Ah, the incredible floating point registers of C128! ; )
Another thing I'd like to see are the inner mechanics and calculus of the various SimCity games.

I'd love to get a hand on the engine used to run Dune (from Cryo). I believe the engine is identical to the one used for KGB too.
I've started to decode the file format but I'm stuck as I have no experience with this kind of endeavor.
