About sleeping

Post by Warlock »

I've downloaded Exult and I think it's a great program. I used to play Ultima 7 in my old 486 DX2 66MHz and 12 Mb of Ram, but it was too fast in combat.
Now I use a Duron 1000 MHz and 192 Mb of Ram.

However I noticed a bug . In original Ultima you selected how many hours you wanted to sleep.
Now when i choose to rest there's no choice box and the Avatar sleeps for about 12 hours (If I saw right).

You can only choose how long you sleep if there's a party member nearby. (So he/she can wake you.)

But I have all my party nearby. In fact when I woke up a character always tell me "It's time to continue the quest".

It's been a long time since playing the original, but I think this happened there too. This didn't happen frequently though. It might have something to do with staying up too long, or being too injured?

I found that placement of the sleeping bag is critical.

If you place it away from the party, and you use it, you walk to it, but your party stays where they are putting them out of "range".

Either put it down next to you, or walk up to it then use it.

Thx for the replies. I noticed the same thing MV stated. Even if there's a matter of a quite "random" range from the party.
