SI: Double music in combat

I use Excult 1.1 with SI with SS on Win 2000.
Whenever I enter combat mode a second music starts playing besides the normal combat music. It doesn't matter which conversion I select - it always stays the same (it does not seem it belongs to the music pack). Even when I use digital oog music it still stays.
Is this normal? Was is that ways in the original? Is there a way to disable it?

This is definitely NOT original. It's that annoying horn song thing isn't it? I have NO idea where that's coming from. I never heard it before playing Exult. It's horrible and totally makes me want to turn off the music, and music is such a huge part of Ultima 7 and Serpent Isle.

I also experienced this - the "second music" you hear should only be played when the Avatar defeats an enemy bare-handed (at least, I think so...
) and is in fact a sample stored in the soundpack. This is why you can't get rid of it by changing conversion.
But, eventually, the bug went away, and since I have swiched exult versions often (to match CVS), I suppose you should try a current CVS version... Another possibility would be to use the tools to replace the sample with silence...

I've heard it too; it's annoying; but I haven't figured out yet why it's happening.
